In the design of my alien I have put some little whiskers and hairs on the cheeks and rear. I like to include things that I want to learn into my modules while I have the support of tutors. After mentioning it to Annabeth she suggested to experiment with the hair tool in Maya and to think about modelling them using polygons.

Well I had a little play,

I found it quite odd, although the model looks quite thin in hair, the rendered out image looks very think and full. If I was thinking of doing a very fury creature I would probably look further into this tool, but I am only looking at doing some odd strands so may as well model them using polygons and look at doing fur another time.
