Well the site I found was about moths and butterflies, but of course they start out as caterpillars first.

Something I didn’t know was the purpose of the caterpillar is to eat mass amounts and then use those calories to cocoon and breed as a butterfly.

I also wasn’t aware that the caterpillar sheds its skin, like a snake, as it gets bigger.

The wooly bear caterpillar takes 14 years to reach adult hood! it lives in the arctic and every spring is indulges itself only to get frozen each winter and comes back alive every spring, to start the cycle again.
