After looking at hundreds of different caterpillars I final chose one to model! The Papilio Machaon Caterpillar!

He is colourful and looks like velvet! He’s a lush green with black strips and red uniformed dots. He is one of the more friendly looking caterpillars, no spikes and no scary faces, he looks like what you imagine when you think caterpillar, so he should be easily recognisable by the general public.

It’s population is quite wide spread, in Europe, asia and North America. It feeds on the tender leaves of Fennel, rue or milk parsley. It reaches sizes of up to 4.1 cm.
