As my friends will tell you, I am not a fan of UV mapping, but I have discovered something that wasn’t helping my frustration with it.

In the UV Editor I was getting some very undesirable toothing effect when i would cut the UV edges.

I accidentally discovered why this was happening. I would select the edge I wanted to cut along and then convert selection to UV’s and cut UV edges. Now this would cut all the edges coming from the UV, which is usually 4.

What I need to be doing is leaving the selection as edge selected, this will then only cut the edges I selected. This will make my life  a little easier as I wont have to go around sewing edges back together that weren’t supposed to be cut. I’m not sure where I picked up that habit but I wont be doing it again
